Delphina Pennington Carillon
Delphina comes from a well-established and well-bred family, the Penningtons. She married Temple Carillon in 1900, and settled down to a pleasant life of parties, social events, and enjoying the countryside when they weren't in Trellech for the season.
After Temple inherited the title in 1916 with the death of his parents, he strongly preferred the estate at Hawk's Breath in Cumbria over the demesne estate of Ytene in the New Forest.
Temple and Delphina died within a few days of each other in 1922. Ancient Trust picks up when Geoffrey and Thomas Benton arrive back in Albion just before the funeral, and are further explored in various books in the The Carillon family arc, especially Best Foot Forward and Three Graces.

Bound For Perdition
Delphina appears in Bound For Perdition as hostess of several house parties during the book, attended by a number of people, including Reggie Hollis, Lynet Alder Hollis, and Margot Williams. Delphina is obviously worried about a few things during these.
Ancient Trust
Ancient Trust begins just after Delphina and Temple's untimely deaths in late January and early February 1922.
Three Graces
During the investigation of Three Graces, Lizzie Carillon and Thesan Wainmeet with Delphina's former lady's maid and pick up some key information about the years before her death.
