Horse

Horses on Cerilia came in a number of breeds, of varying size and demeanour. They were often used by humanoid races for riding, the pulling of carts and wagons or other forms of work.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Four limbs and silky hair that make them very air dynamic, but strong muscle structure. Perfect for speed or for hauling a cart.

Biological Traits

Horses were classified in a number of different manners. Chargers, or more plainly warhorses were those horses bred to ride in battle. Light warhorses were referred to as coursers while heavy warhorses were known as destriers.

Live all across the country but prefer to live in the plains.

Social Structure

They typically like to travel in herds in the wild, but from time to time one will break away from a herd to travel alone. It often doesn't last long.

Domestication

Horses are easy to tame. There are some studs that require more breaking in then some of the mares, but this is an easy process that makes them slightly more docile as they adapt to human settlements

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Used for riding and travel, or pulling heavy loads by merchants. There are some people who breed and show them among the nobles. However there are some even have them as companions or pets.   Their tail hair is often used in musical instruments for strings due to how fine it is. It can also be used to stuff furniture or make strong plaster. Their hide can be made into a tough leather. Horse bones can be used to make gelatin for food. The bones can also be used to make glue. Animal glue is still preferred by some wood workers.

Common Taboos

Taking a horse to water and expecting it to drink like a fool. The horse knows better then any two legger that water isn't safe.

Common Myths and Legends

There is legend of the horse of the Charioteer. A horse that will never die as long as it's rider lives. It's like their lives are intertwined as they roam the plains, helping traveller they come across.
