Moon Power
Moon power was first discovered in 297 EoL by a group of werewolves. In the group was a mated couple and the tribal mate necklaces that hung from their necks began to glow under the light of the full moon. It wasn't until they returned to their pack that they learned the tribal mate necklaces contained a hidden power within the canine attached to it.
This power first began appearing in the White Mountain Pack, where the moon's power reached them quicker than any other pack due to the heigh of the moon in space as it traveled around the world. The White Mountain Pack is currently located in the upper western hemisphere of the continent of Chymoús and is surrounded by a mass of mountains, hence the name.
Cultural Significance
Once a month when the full moon rises, every mated pair with a tribal mate necklace comes together to bask in the full moon's light to let their tribal mate necklaces absorb the power of the moon to help strengthen the werewolf mate bond between the mated pair. This is a symbol of their love and devotion to one another. In the beginning, the tribal mate necklace was just a common tradition for the werewolves and then swiftly changed to a new tradition called Moon Basking. This "Moon Basking" was the result of werewolves wanting to strengthen the bonds with their mates. Now every month, werewolves and their mates—if they are not werewolves—perform the ritual of basking under the full moon to "charge" their mate necklaces so that their bond is stronger than natural. The result usually ends up with werewolves and their mates being able to mind link each other from far away. For example, if a werewolf is needing to visit the Blue Desert Pack when they are from the Silver Forest Pack, they would still be able to mind-link their mate if they had performed the Moon Basking ritual.Table of Contents
