Session III: The Chase Report

General Summary

Upon realizing that they were all headed roughly in the direction of Rambergam, Horxim decided to join the party, as well as the hunt for the ethereal forager that swallowed Wiinken. Thanks to the generosity of Brynjolf the goatherd, the party was equipped with large mountain goats to ride, taking some of the burden off Whelani and increasing their travel speed. Brynjolf simply asks that the party return the goats to his employer, Temyllbur, once they reach Rambergam.   Following Arenza's heading, the party pursued the forager up into the mountains, pausing for a day to hunt, forage, and prepare food. Meanwhile, Wiinken learned more about Elara and her life inside Winslow, as well as her associates, who call themselves the Arborwatch, and the work they've been doing to understand what they've come to call the "elemental rift" that came to be after the Sundering. Wiinken also discovered that proximity to Winslow enhances magic, once again creating a unique owl that grants the bearer +10 temporary hit points each long rest.    After two days in the caverns of Winslow's body, Wiinken implored the forager to land, and he seemingly heard her and began his ponderous descent. Once landed, Elara helped Wiinken to exit Winslow by stoneshaping a series of steps leading up to Winslow's blowhole, and once Wiinken was in position, Elara gave a signal, upon which Winslow summoned a massive gust of air which shot Wiinken up into the air above Winslow's back. Some magic or enchantment -- Elara's or Winslow's, Wiinken isn't sure -- slowed her fall and deposited her gently in the middle of Elara's vegetable garden.    She dismounted the massive forager and made camp not too far away, spending the night on the frigid mountainside by herself.    The next day, by sheer luck, Wiinken managed to stumble into the search party, thanks largely to Calico Jack bellowing Wiinken's name in steady intervals and Zaki clanging a bell.    We concluded the session with a fully reunited party who now must finish the trek to Rambergam, a journey that should take another 4-5 days.
