Gideon Playlist #1

Curated and Written by: Kevin (Yomenmeister)
1. Betrayal is a Symptom - As Gideon arrives home from his first encounter with the world after having fallen into a river outside of his family's compound he begins to ponder. Any possession he'd known was immaculate and all his food had always been top tier, but now, he was aware of the outside world. He had been made aware of suffering, of hunger, and of poverty. If things like these were kept from him what else is he ignorant about? What does his faith and the values that his family push on him mean?   2. Soldier - Dissatisfied with his opulent life, a newly aware Gideon listens to a voice in his head and decides to create a purpose of his own by becoming a soldier. This is accomplished fairly quickly given everything is handed to him. However Gideon sees a lot of success but very little progress and begins to wonder if the import of his name is what is holding him back.   3. Take Me to Church - Faith is an inextricable part of life in Numina Anterth. Which is why it hurt so much to find that it is his faith which has doomed him. With the help of Pylos -the voice that has been making itself present- Gideon discovers his family's plans for him. To serve as the vessel for their god, and serve as his instrument till death or departure. Gideon beings to wonder if he should've died in that river instead.   4. This Life Is Mine - How does one stray from a path so set it practically seems stone? Gideon must now make a choice he never dreamed of. He has to escape this seemingly inevtiable fate. This might be his hardest endeavour ever, considering most every choice he's ever made was made for him. How can he survive the outside? The wilderness? Where would he even go? He doesn't know, and Pyloscan only help him so much. But what he does know is that if he stays home, his life, his liberty, and his very existence is forfeit.   5. Mr. Gendai Speaker - As Gideon travels from home, he looks for a new residence. His whole life was spent in one place - concentrated and distilled into a life by design - and now, he seeks a new place in which to make a life for himself. He knows he must travel far but he doesn't know where to go or what he'll even do. Finally he comes upon a place where his reputation is all but known to the people he mingles with. It is in the Isles of Mercy that he finds what he's been looking for... a clean slate.   6. Stronger Than Ever - Gideon's life was never one of struggle but of comfort, luxury, and decadence. Now that he has left home, he truly knows what it means to make a path all on your own. It means struggle, hardship, and loneliness are daily for him. Buffeted by waves of depression and despair, he grips tightly to the disarrayed life he is building. Returning home means comforting surroundings, a good meal, and familiar faces, and the temptation is strong, even if it's at the cost of his safety and his life. What is life without struggle, but what is it without respite?   7. LOST AND FOUND - It's all coming together now. This marks the first milestone of his career, the day he placed first in his assault team. It has been a long and arduous battle for which he has had to overcome naïveté, apathy, and a lifetime of comfortable passivity, but finally he's starting to see the results of his training. Improvement in combat, growth in critical thinking, and he's even made a few friends with which he feels comfortable. The first sprigs of his labor are starting to show, and he intends to witness that tree.   8. Let's Take It Someday - Sergeant Gideon, a title he's been chasing for a bit now. It's finally here, the chance to prove he can lead and can make something of himself, away from his name and away from his race. Together with the men and women that he's been training with - warriors in arms - he looks to grow even more and through himself inspire others to grow with him. Regardless of what he's done, he can finally say he's done it, he's made it on his own.   9. Death Valley - Hakoda and Gideon didn't always get along well. Hakoda had been suspicious of Gideon while Gideon just wanted to be left alone. In fact, they almost killed each other when Hakoda found out what Gideon was, but after a good slugfest and ten minutes of each one trying to determine who was out to get whom they reconciled in a new way. This was a friendship formed on accident, but one that brought a sense of peace and comfort to Gideon that he didn't know he needed. Someone that he could truly be himself with, without worrying about the consequences. Gideon doesn't usually drink, but now having a friends he trusts with his life and his identity... he's cutting loose.   10. Black Out Days - Everything was going so well. The Vigil was good, his life was moving along... and then he saw it. He started having visions again, presaged by Pylos. He thought he had left that behind along with a name, but had not anticipated their untimely resurgence. He tried to ignore them, pawn them off as bad dreams or stress issues, but they would continue to haunt him. In hopes of regathering his composure, he takes some time off, in a nearby village where everything should be calm and... quiet.   11. Taiko's Fury - The battles he's starting to face with this group are perilous, but it's nothing he can't handle, even if it is monsters from another world. He's heard that his former teammates are in trouble and need to be brought back, so he'll take his new team to accomplish that.   12. Battlecry - The rift threats are starting to get even more intense but as long as the mission is still being accomplished, it's nothing they can't deal with. Trying to save Valentine from an enemy camp isn't gonna be easy and they'll need a distraction, but it's gotta be something big.   13. Legends are Made - The last thing Gideon wanted to do was involve himself with any more gods, even minor ones with memory loss, but it seems like this cause is worth it if it means that he can use its fruits. Recognition and renown are never bad when searching for things that are hard to find.   14. 1coma - This is the most difficult part of the mission for him. Searching for Hakoda and searching for Asose. If anything were to happen to them, he'd be in shambles. But wait, an enemy approaches, and he knows something about her that Gideon himself didn't. This could get ugly.   15. Pantheon, the Unbreakable Spear - Theme song

Why?
To me, it's the of song you hear on a second wind- like when you stand back up- and I think that's a big theme with him. It's trying again.
