Aenar, the Nightwing Sword
The legendary Nightwing Sword of bard songs and local Arvanian tales was known as a master swordsman and for his victory against an eldritch deity that had tried to claw to the surface of Auriga. Forged from his experiences as a Nightwing in the Telda'Velahrn, Aenar eventually dedicated both his skills and sword to the protection of the people of Corrin. Known as the Captain who changed Corrin from the inside out, turning it into a main destination of Arvanoc, he made a name for himself amongst the people and was beloved like no other before him. However, his days as a champion against the dark forces eventually caught up with him. While there are those who believe he was killed by vengeful villains, others believe that he was able to escape his grim fate and took off to a distant realm to live a peaceful life with his true love, the White Phoenix, taking the rest many believed he earned and the life he wanted and fought for until his very last day in the realm.

While the younger generations do not readily know the stories of the Nightwing, the White Phoenix, and the Song Arcanum-- nor would they have an easy time finding them in books as their tale does get very dark according to the original tales, it is now being told as a fairy tale of sorts through songs and even at some temples by priests and clergy and scholars. However, to see reenacments of the songs and tales, one would need to attend the Traveling Festival's shows as they are the only ones that seem to have dedicated productions no matter what the festival. While many do not go out of their way to see it, many older folk tend to watch as well as bring their younger family members there as well. It is unknown why the Festival dedicates a whole stage to this production, but it is rumored that they do so as a traditional form of good luck and stability as the Traveling Festival's popularity grew after the supposed events of the first tale.Exploits
While his time as the City Captain of Corrin is well known and documented in many books ("The Tales of the Fire, Song, and Blade"), he is also known for: ⦿ his fight against the Church of Anoraen, specifically their leader, Orivistas who attempted to summon something from a void realm ("When the Dark meets the Light...") ⦿ his romance with the White Phoenix, the love of his life ("When Sword Meets Flame..." ⦿ his fight against the Blight of Darthin ("The Clever Undead") ⦿ his role in Vellaria's expansion campaign into the mountains of the Dragon's Spine ("The March of the Dragons") ⦿ his fight against a "shadow god" in the Spine (The Undying Scream) Though there may have been more, sadly, the only journals of the Song Arcanum document very few others that weren't turned into tales or songs. However, it was strongly hinted at by the bard to many of his audiences that there were many, many adventures he had simply forgot to write down and for some others, he may have misplaced his other books. The Nightwing Sword
Placed within the Order of the Talon, Aenar became a Nightwing and over the course of his year in service, he not only showed how much of a master he had become at the blade but had used what he was taught to develop certain fighting techniques that are still to this day being used but with empowered and enchanted blades. Towards the end of his service, the Telda'Velahrn had been visited by the king himself and in an effort to highlight the role of the Talon, Aenar's commanding officer had introduced him as "the Nightwing Sword, an aspiring master of the blade"-- which was a name that stuck and followed Aenar until the end of his days.
