Arvanoc's Throne Room
From the journal of Selene Kylayne...
It truly is a strange thing. From something called the Palace of Tears, I was expecting a place far more somber and serious, but it is actually quite beautiful. There is bright stained glass windows in the main throne room that seem to bear only the slightest hint of colors. Yet, once you turn your back to it, you can see the pattern of colors playing out against the opposite wall.
I never expected to ever visit the throne room as only important guests may sit in on court meetings, but it seems the Court deemed having people listen in on proceedings was comforting to the people and its representatives especially with these rumored tidings of war. It's a measure of transparency that I heard used to be regular of the court ever since Khylom took the throne, but after the queen's assassination, it was no longer deemed proper.
Anyways, I secured a seat to listen in on the proceedings of court matters recently as a supposed visiting noblewoman of the Confederated States. I spoke truly and can say that this was one of the few times where I actually didn't lie of my interest or the fact that I was present to take notes.
During the proceedings, I heard the rumors from around me that the Court wanted the king to remarry so that there was a sense of stability once again in the Crown... a sentiment of unease that was whispered of in passing. However, once this was finally brought up during the agenda, judging by how his eyes darted to the area on the dais next to him and how it was empty, I could hazard a guess as to his answer.
Looking at the area, you can definitely see that there was to be room for a second throne and that perhaps it was once there but if it were, it has not been there for a long while.
