Bloodborn Vampirism

While vampirism is associated with being cursed and while there are drawbacks to being a Bloodborn, it is generally seen as a far better alternative than to be cursed with vampirism.

Laws of Bloodborn Vampirism

1) The recipient of the Bloodborn curse, must either have consented verbally or via written contract that must be signed with a witness present. Any Trueborn that is found to have turned a mortal against their consent is subject to punishment as deemed by the high court of Ehranor and divination magic will be used to determine the veracity of the claims of either party.   2) For the first month or until a full passage of the moons, whichever is later, the Bloodborn vampire must spend time in the house of their Trueborn sire adjusting to their new life and abilities.   3) Any new Bloodborn vampires that hold a significant seat of leadership must register their change with the city government as well as the capital.

The Difference In Vampirism

Originally, vampirism was a curse inflicted by the dark god Morvaanr to keep his supply of thralls and slaves alive and stronger than their previous forms. Vampirism is seen to be a curse born from the dark magics that infused the void deity's powers.   When Valkeryth, Trygg, and the Primordial Protector sought to reverse the divine curse placed by Morvaanr, they eventually realized that couldn't without everyone dying and losing their souls to the Void. To save the people, they restored their souls and instead incorporated and altered the arcane structure of the curse removing the negative effects a vampire would typically endure. Thus, the three created the first generation of Trueborn vampires.   While those who served and were cursed by Morvaanr became known as Nightstalker vampires, who can inflict the curse of vampirism of others, the Trueborn, while they can do the same, instead can turn a mortal into an immortal vampire but without the bloodlust and the adversity to the sun and radiant light.
