Copy Writer

In the halls of Darcanis, there lies a part of the library well-lit and full of large desks dedicated to one person. On one desk can be dozens of small text on another there could be just one but plenty of notes, others merely just have one text. However, the one thing that each and every desk has besides a scribe is an animal companion, an endless inkpot with a special quill, and an empty book.   Welcome to the Room of Remembrance!
I like studying in that hall there. It's always very quiet and all you hear is the scratching of quills on fine paper. You can literally hear them writing books upon books upon books, endlessly. While I do not envy their task, I do appreciate them.
*laughs* You are one of the few people who do.
In the Room of Remembrance, tomes are recopied into a new book to be sent out to a great library that is missing a book. As travelers of Darcanis come upon city after city, visiting temple libraries as well as main city libraries, they take note of what books are missing, damaged, or otherwise requested and put in requests to have the book recopied and sent to   While copying is easy due to the likes of the cantrip Scribe, what is difficult is compiling and copying notes to make a volume available to locations. While not always the job of a copy writer, many find that condensing information to be disseminated quickly is a good use of time not spent copying and sending out requested books.   Besides copying books and tomes of research, they also copy tomes that divination magic reveals to be greatly diminished in size whether it be a work of fiction or a collections of writing meant to be published. If a scribe were to find one of these books were near non-existent, they could decide whether or not to reintroduce copies of it back into the world. (The strange magic related to this is said to link back to the goddess Valkeryth, who wished that knowledge be spread so that mortalkind could make decision that could guide the world to a better place than before.)   While mostly a position taken for granted by most within Darcanis, there are a few who do acknowledge and appreciate the efforts done by the copy writers-- some of whom protect all forms of text even the ones that not everyone reads out in the public eye.
