The Festival of The Lovers Moons
The time of the year where the moons of Auriga, Briga, and Dhirga meet is one of celebration and joy.
The two moons constantly revolve close to each other getting closer to kiss before Ralos the red moon comes between and pulls one of them away.
In a constant dance, the moons are pulled, the story goes that the moons represent two lovers being pulled apart by another jealous of their affection for one another.
But once a year when the people make such a celebration and such noise down below to pulls Ralos attention enough away for the lovers to come close and kiss.
The tradition of this festival had roots in many cultures from the Northern Peaks to Shifting Sands. From the exotic dances the tribal people of the God's Groove to try and entice Ralos down to look at them. To the heavy cannonades and arcane missiles and contraption fired off by the kingdom of Ithiliond.
The festival is a day for one to celebrate triumph over another control in some cultures such as the freed people of the Relnaru, who traveled to this plane to seek freedom from slavers.
They now embrace this time of year as a festival of freedom from bondage and a master to seek one's heart's desire.
In Kings fall the festival is a week-long contest of those that can sing the greatest stories and ballads of triumph and love. Elaborate dances and poets of all kinds all try their hand to admonish and seek the affection of one that is chosen every year as the embodiment of Briga as she is protected by another who plays Rhalos. The one that wins her hand and escapes from the protector is named that year Dhriga.
The symbolism of this festival has changed depending on the region of the world, but its origins seem to be drawn from the same myth across the lands. This leads me to believe in a common original origin.
