  The Raven Queen holds her favored in a close embrace. While she was but a minor divinity in the times predating the elves and when the other subraces were being molded. She gained the favor of Armide and found them to be her servants. Lacking the power and the skill, she warped them slowly, changing them partially to live in the ShadowFell, but only partially being successful.   Over time, the Shadar-Kai would lose their spirit to the dark of the shadows. So she established a land on the Material Plane where her favored could roam free. A city on a mountain far out in the ocean away from land. With her blessings and as most are largely content to live under her rule, the vast majority live in the city of Mount Romulus.   Temples to the Queen herself mark the city of Mount Romulus, a vast area designed for her chosen to thrive and prosper. Dedications to her strict legal systems and guidelines of her faith make her the most active god on the Material Plane or in Ithungsida. She constantly sends forces to the various lands to seek out and change the tides of conflict. In the Orcish Incursion, she cast several regiments of Shadar-Kai into the conflict to aid beat back the hordes.   In addition, her tribes of half-orc seek out necromancers and similar to destroy the undeath she hates so much. Shadar-kai generally resemble most of these thoughts and claim them to be of the highest choice. Many seek to perform great acts or to die in service to the Queen so that they might be remembered and written in the halls of the Shadowfell as great servants of the Queen.   Commonly Found in:   Shadar-Kai are a rare find on the Continent of Ithungsida. The vast majority hail from the distant mountain kingdom of Mt.Romulus; where the Raven Queen holds tight control of the city and goals of her works on the Material Plane.   Most that wander the lands beyond are said to be on mission from the Queen herself. Even if they are not quite aware of what they are supposed to be accomplishing.
