Dahl
Dahl
The Dahl are a species of aquatic mammalians often found in the cool water along the outer rim of the crescent isles, very rarely moving through the caldera. They range between four and six feet long as adults, equipped with needle-like teeth and near unmatched agility. Dahl are pack animals, usually traveling in groups numbers between four and ten, using their numbers to herd schools of fish as a primary hunting tactic, though they will occasionally go after larger prey.
The Kar’chari on the whole have a general disdain for the Dahl, much the same as humans tend to dislike coyotes, but strangely enough do not hunt them outright, usually avoiding them, as they do pose a threat even to a skilled warrior in packs.
“The Dahl are much like humans, but exaggerated, in the worst ways. They are infantile, without the concept of consequence and with no mind to learn, and seek pleasure above all else. I once observed a group batting around a Tetrada, pufferfish you call them, like they were playing some sort of ball game with it, completely blind to the little fish’s panic. Amusing, surely, but striking such an oblivious creature unprovoked wouldn't be too dissimilar from kicking a child.”- Galva, Kar’chari wanderer
