Mitigation
Mitigation
Damage reduction comes in three forms:
-Mitigation: Each point of mitigation reduces the incoming damage of the given category by 1 per impact die.
-Weak/Strong vs.: If the target is weak or strong vs a damage type, the potency of the incoming attack of that type is increased or decreased by the defense's rating.
-Damage Resistance: Reduces the total incoming damage by the specified amount.
During the mitigation phase, the action has succeeded in effecting the target. The aggressor rolls their impact die if necessary, and the defender calculates their mitigation. The attacker rolls damage die with an efficiency penalty equal to the defenders mitigation. Regardless of mitigation effects, damage can not be reduced to less than 1 point per die. DR is applied after all other results are calculated.
