Movement MSR

Movement(MSR)

Movement Rating

Movement can take many forms, from walking to swimming to flying. A creature, though, is not always equally good at all types of movement; a bird can't walk as fast or as nimbly as it flies. In Flagstone, creatures have a Movement Speed Rating (MSR) for each domain of movement that they have access too. Like other ratings, MSR is broken down into Potency, Range, and Efficiency with each value determing different aspects of the character's movement as described below.

Potency covers how much power there is in a characters movements, and thus is applied at its rank value to CR rolls for move actions that are largely based on power or use of force.

Range (E-S/1-6) describes how many tiles a character may move per 1 point of breath added to the base action cost. A character may move as far as they like as long as they may pay the breath cost. Range is also added to the wielder's avoidance. When an avoidance roll is made, roll the range die and add the result.

Efficiency covers a character's ability to move quickly and efficiently, and acts as breath reduction for abilities and actions, reducing the breath cost. Efficiency is added to prevention CRs.
