Chief Giotok Daeyang

Introduction

Throughout his chiefdom, Giotok strivied for a better swamp than he was left with. He erected many daring feets of architecture and created a period of pure growth in the swamp.

Character

Appearance

Giotok is a lean man who stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has wavy brown hair with a summer tan. Living his life in the swamp has given him a rigid look. Having been formally trained by a Southern Water tribe master he was given a blue tattoo on his right upper arm to signify his completion of his bending training. Giotok prefers to be wear loose and flowy garments as the humidity in the swamp can be dangerous. Vines wrap around his ankles and are also located across his chest. Though this is not a professional appearance for most of the nations this is common attire for the people of the Foggy Swamp Tribe.

Personality

Giotok has always been extremely lively and upbeat. Oftentimes the people of the swamp compared Giotok to the badgerfrogs as a child because he was always hopping around the Huu Hollow Lake. Being the social glowfly he is, he was able to become friends with everyone he met. This allowed for him not only to form strong bonds with the people of the swamp, but also allowed him to branch out into the Southern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation.

Life

Giotok has lived his entire life in the swamp, for it is as almost as the plants growing there give him life. His mother Kyala Koramok, whose family hailed from the Southern Water Tribe, was the one who Giotok shared his waterbending gifts with. Giotok's father was an earth bender by the name of Zho Daeyang and whose family have resided in the Foggy Swamp Tribe for generations. Giotoks parents had lived in the capital city of Huu Hollow, met and settled down to have children. They were humble farmers so they decided to keep to themselves and tend to the land, providing food for not only the swamp, but also for the north and south. As a child Giotok found himself making many friends and bonding with everyone he met. He also began befriending the many creatures of the swamp. Once he got old enough his parents allowed him to go to the South and learn the art of waterbending with a teacher because neither of them were benders. He stayed in the South for a few months and became an Initiate where his training got cut short. His parents had ended up both dying due to a band of thieves attempting to steal food from the Swamp. Of course his two parents stood little chance at defeating the band of thieves because they were both not very good benders. Having heard the news Giotok left the south, returning back to the Swamp where he became a farmer in an attempt to pick up where his parents left off. He settled down in the swamp and eventually married and became very rooted in his community and family. Eventually after the swamp split from the Water Tribe, Giotok went on a journey along with Avatar Tamiko. Giotok being team avatar had many great adventures but eventually he was called home to the Foggy Swamp Tribe, after the great spirit, Raava, left Tamiko.

Giotok's reign of chiefdom is most notably the longest lasting and one of the most impactful for the nation of the Foggy Swamp Tribe. Following in the footsteps of his predecessor Chief Suluk, Giotok was reluctant on what to do next. After declaring his Elder, Jorika Roatok the two devised many different avenues to focus on. Giotok being a well rounded chief both grew many cities from the ground up such as Chin Village and other builds such as the FSPC Akuna Daeyang Laboratory. Giotok also withstood many international feets when it came time he lead the swamp to victory in the war against the United Republic of Nations and also participated in renewing long standing alliances. Towards the end of his chiefdom, Giotok once again proved resilent in defending the swamp in the great Snowstone War. Chief Giotok continues to devote time to his community and hopes for the swamp to grow to new heights and become a place of true beauty and growth.
