Personality

Yuza focused mainly on her studies and the wellbeing of others. She knows little about her parents but she is very friendly, supportive and loves to help people. She will not hesitate to stand up for what is right and is very stubborn. Very confident and will not go down without a fight. Takes pain tolerance surprisingly too well and loves to do mind games. She is positively one of the happiest people you will ever meet, a little ball of sunshine.

Biography

The Beginning

Yuza Ukiyo was born into a high-class family. She had an older brother named Taizo. One tragic day, their parents had gotten into a very horrible accident, forcing Yuza and Taizo to move in with their only family left, their aunt, uncle, and cousins Asuki and Jimi. However, Asuki and their uncle travelled around so much they were barely home, and their aunt was a very busy woman, so it was mostly Taizo taking care of Yuza. They had completely different personalities. While Taizo would get into many fights, Yuza would want to help as much as possible and make new friends. Although they were very different, it did not sever their bond together. Taizo sooned left to join the military after realizing in one of his fights that he was able to firebend. Leaving Yuza to find out more about herself, she ventured off to figure out what she would do with her life. Her first stop was Purenzu, where she worked as an engineer for a few months. One day while working on one of the house roofs, she tripped and tumbled off. She somehow hadn’t slammed onto the floor as expected, she could firebend! The energy of the fire made it so she would land softly onto the floor. After finding out she could bend, she reunited with Taizo and joined the military with him. He showed her all he knew and trained her to the best of his abilities. They trained day and night. Being back with her brother just brought her the nostalgia of her childhood she missed so much. During a cold night her and Taizo went out for a walk. On this path they crossed paths with muggers, taking them on with surprise. Knocking Taizo unconscious, Yuza was left to fend for herself. She was absolutely terrified of what would happen to her, but staring at Taizo knocked fueled her enragement. All she could think about was hurting them as much as they hurt her brother. She focused all her energy into fighting all of them. About an hour of fighting, 2 of the muggers ran off, one stayed. All Yuza could think about was staying alive. So, she “surrendered” herself, or so the mugger thought. When the mugger was grabbing some items, Yuza blindsighted him, accidentally burning his left arm. The mugger quickly ran away screaming in pain, leaving Yuza to bring Taizo back to be treated. She soon realized the military was not for her, she could not fathom the thought of injuring someone like that again, even if it was an accident. It wasn’t long till she left the military, still figuring out what she could do. While exploring a bit more, she came across a Gray Nomad looking for assistance to support their Hallowed Sanctuary. Of course, she offered as much help as she could. After helping as much as she can, she realized that all she wanted to do was help people. She then joined the Sages to represent the Fire Nation and help serve the Fire Lord. This way she can help plan events, govern cities, and provide shelter for those who need it. She also came across old friendships and new friendships. Currently a High Sage for the nation, she still goes around helping others. Whether it be a small situation like touring some, to helping the Avatar come up with solutions to be supported. She loves to look back on where she started, and see the person she has become.

First Love

One day as she was strolling the streets of New Kasen, as she had just finished helping a refugee. She bumped into a young Air Nomad who had been traveling the world, Kaito. His dreams of exploring the world had Yuza completely engulfed with fascination. She ended up developing feelings and decided to spend a few days with him, then he went off to explore the rest of the world. After a while, Kaito had returned to see Yuza and asked her to marry him. She was so head over heels in love and of course accepted the marriage. The couple then got married at the Northern Air Temple, with many friends and family to witness. As time went on, the two grew further apart, until one day Kaito went missing. This drove Yuza to a state of sadness for a while. She found herself getting comfort in drawing herself in work, and being extremely friendly with anyone she came across. It didn’t take long until Yuza found out she was pregnant. She soon gave birth to a beautiful girl, which she named Arial. This child had become Yuza’s world, her everything, and she would do anything for her child’s happiness.

The Loss of Her Brother

A day that started off so happy, was quick to turn dark. The night of her cousin Jimi’s birthday, and her good friend Yeknom’s wedding was a momentous occasion for both good and bad. Everyone in the family knew of Taizo falling ill all of a sudden, so they had him rest up for a couple days. Taizo was one of Yeknom’s groomsmen, so he wanted to be there to witness the bond of two lovers. Yuza and Taizo led the group down the aisle preparing for the beginning of the wedding. Once the rings were exchanged, Yuza noticed a shift in Taizo’s behavior. He was spacing out, and swaying side to side a few times. Jimi and Yeknom had been officially married! While everyone was cheering, Taizo walked off the stage and collapsed. Yuza and the rest of the family were quick to check on him, but they all had that sad feeling knowing this was the end.
