Life
Born in Nan Kai to a loving mother and father, she was raised by her mother who served as a priestess of the temple and since she could walk had her life planned out. She assisted her mother on the daily with tedious tasks such as cleaning, organizing and making sure the shrines were well kept.
Her father was a local merchant, often travelling for extended periods of time. He would come home and tell her of the stories he hears on his ventures across the earth kingdom. She was fascinated from a young age on the world and what it had to offer because of her father's influence on her life. At the age of 19 she decided to leave her home and her duties at the shrine after years of caring for it and the people who came to visit.
Her first stop of importance was at the swamp, as she spent weeks walking almost aimlessly to finally stumble upon Banyan Grove tree which she spent the rest of time in the swamp sleeping, eating and meditating under. The experience was one that changed her as she felt the swamp and its abundance of life, its connection to the spiritual world and the ideas of enlightenment. She left the swamp at 20 after spending the years completely immersed in its energy, and communicating with the individuals that lived in the swamp. After leaving she learned of the crimes committed under Fire Lord Sado against the swamp and its people, completely disgusted by the acts of cruelty committed by them.
After her time spent in the swamp, she disappeared in the Si Wong Desert for over 5 years. She spent that time becoming one with the sandbenders and the people of the Hami Tribe. She learned sandbending with their people and learned about the spirits of the desert, Wan Shi Tong’s Library and more of the spiritual history of not just the Earth Kingdom but the entire world.
She spent the next 5 years of her life adventuring across the world. She visited Air Temple Island, while she didn’t search for a teacher on the spirituality of the air nomads she observed and learned by watching them on the daily. She took the ideals of letting go of her earthly attachments, pushing the thoughts of her family and the idea of pursuing a family of her own for her own good. She then visited the United Republic Nations, which was nearby where she did not pursue the spirituality but her own enjoyment as she watched the merging of cultures, bending and the policy of voting for their leader which was while not foregin still fascinating to her. She then spent her time in the Northern Water Tribe with the goal of visiting the Oasis, she spent a while trying to get in when she finally went in after having to break some rules but she believed it was justified enough.
Her time at the Oasis was cut rather short but it didn’t mean she wasn’t able to learn from it as she spent an hour meditating next to it. She was caught by an official which had cut her time short and was escorted out of the Oasis and Agna Qel'a as a whole. She didn't regret it but it ended her time in the Water Tribe short. Her last stop was the Fire Nation but she never made it to her destination as the war between Earth Kingdom and Fire Nation. She prioritized her safety over her journey and left back to the Earth Kingdom. She went back to Nan Kai to a panicked state of mind as she took on her now deceased mothers mantle as the town’s priestess and was able to bring the town into a state of calm over the war.
Her impact on the town was able to reach the ears of the ministers and the earth monarchs as she was asked to take on the title of Tianshi and manage the clergy as a whole. She took it with honor, and started her work on the clergy with immense enthusiasm as she took refuge back into the desert which formed her to the person she was today. She went to a site east of the Si Wong desert towards the Eastern Air Temple and has lived there doing work remotely and traveling to shrines which she worked on the site of the first temple of the earth kingdom. She continues to practice her sand bending as well while she resides in the Desert.
Recently she has taken in a young girl, Kana Zhou who has been nomadic in the Si Wong desert unable to find herself. She gave advice to the girl about accepting herself for who she is and has helped the girl in rekindling her love for the earth, to speak to it once again and as well as teaching her sand bending, an art which she dedicates herself to and wishes for others to do the same. Kana still resides with her as she continues to learn from Mei Xing through her experience and talents.
