Goliath
High on the mountaintops throughout Oryth, the giant-kin known as the Goliath roam in clans of warriors never staying in one place at a time. Though short compared to other giants, many other humanoids see the Goliath's towering form, filling them with intimidation and cautiousness.
Feminine goliaths have the ability to grow hair, albeit very slowly, on the top of their heads. They consider this a gift from their ancestors and will often never cut them, preferring instead to keep their hair in braids or dreadlocks.
Unending Competition
A Goliath's life is one of constant hardship and overcoming obstacles. Since they are roving bands, they are constantly on the lookout for food, water, and shelter. As such, any mistake can be a deadly one. To combat this, goliaths will all test themselves among their kin, participating in (mostly) friendly competitions. From being the first to come home with food to killing the most foes in combat, a Goliath inherently keeps track of their process in almost all of their endeavors.Marks of Fate
Though often mistaken as tattoos, the Goliath is born with patchy parts of their skin that are usually blacks, reds, and blues. It is believed that these markings are tied to each of the Goliath's given fates. As such, it is a great taboo for a Goliath to receive a tattoo for it is believed it would interfere with their fate and insult Celestian for bestowing these marks upon them.

No Traces
Goliaths are accustomed to traveling in various environments and throughout feet upon feet of snow. Not only does their leathery-tough skin make them resilient to the cold, but they also are able to hide their tracks by traveling in a single-file line in order to mask their numbers for those who might be tracking them or defending against their pursuit. Even clans of 30 or more can make it seem like there is but one traveler alone on a perilous journey. As such, this makes it nearly impossible to tell how large a clan is without actually seeing them while hiking throughout their snowy territories.Bare As Rocks
Goliaths don't have hair in the same way that most humanoids have. Masculine Goliaths have no hair at all, bearing smooth skin all over their body. This gives them a slightly imposing look with no eyebrows to accentuate their emotional state and often adds to their intimidating presence.Feminine goliaths have the ability to grow hair, albeit very slowly, on the top of their heads. They consider this a gift from their ancestors and will often never cut them, preferring instead to keep their hair in braids or dreadlocks.
No Pity for the Weak
A Goliath is always expected to pull their weight. Whether they are injured in combat or of old-age. Those who can not keep up with the clan are cast out to fend for themselves. There is no ill-will from the clan or the outcast. This is simply the way of things and a goliath would never willingly endanger their clan due to their own weakness. More often than not, a goliath will make this decision for themselves and will speak to the elder to be removed. There is one last celebration of service where the outcast will be gifted with supplies in order to assist on their journey.Goliath Thoughts

Goliath Names
Every goliath has three names: a birth name assigned by the newborn’s mother and father, a nickname assigned by the tribal chief, and a family or clan name. A birth name is up to three syllables long while Clan names are five syllables or more and end in a vowel.A goliath presents all of these names upon introducing themselves. Birth names are rarely linked to gender. Goliaths see feminine and masculine goliaths as equal in all things, and they find societies with roles divided by gender to be puzzling or worthy of mockery. To a goliath, the person who is best at a job should be the one tasked with doing it.
A goliath’s nickname is a description that can change on the whim of a chieftain or tribal elder. It refers to a notable deed, either a success or failure, committed by the goliath. Goliaths assign and use nicknames with their friends of other races, and change them to refer to an individual’s notable deeds.
