The Nurbotu Guardians

A respected mercenary group from Anvil.

The Nurbotu Guardians are a group of respected mercenaries that operate in the desert region of Anvil and are sworn protectors of The Nurbotu Scarfolk. As an organization, they've become so powerful that they're practically above the law - thankfully, the guardians don't abuse their power and instead use it for good.   The riftguard make up a large number of the Nurbotu Guardians and are one of the key reasons that the official lawkeepers of Jolundria don’t want to get involved with them. They have tamed rifthounds on leashes as their sharpest weapon - and the government doesn’t want to deal with the implications of this or be held responsible for any damages or diseases caused by these beasts.

Operations

The guardians operate alone and with their own free will. They patrol the lands, hunt down any riftbeing predators, guard the rifts, and protect the people. Locals muster together coin or bartering goods to hire the guardians to take down smuggling operations, slave traders, and bandit camps. By hiring them, they ensure that no retaliation befalls them for doing so, even if the problematic groups were well connected.   Along with their core base of operations, Fort Endié (a converted prison fort from the Second Age turned into a rifthound training facility), the Nurbotu Guardians have established several new barracks of their own out in the wilds to keep an eye on the largest rifts. They enlist fighters and scouts from local settlements to aid them and will train them up into elite guardians if they wish to join.   The job comes with excellent pay, lots of respect, and plenty of supplies - but it’s also a gruelling and unforgiving role full of physical labour, long marches and intense training for fighting unknown enemies. It’s not for the weak of heart to be able to control and fight alongside a rifthound, and it takes even more courage to bring home the folks you couldn’t save.

I love that, even though they are so powerful, they use that power for good.

I like the high danger, and high reward with the good pay and lots of respect!

I love them and their tamed Rifthounds on leashes, using what came out of the rifts back against it.

You should check out the The 5 Shudake, if you want of course.
