Rant is the fourth planet from the sun in the A0456 Solar system. It is not the only planet in this habitable zone, it is neighbors with the planet of Areu and the planet of Kasoun. Rant is still significantly behind in science compared to it's two neighbors but it is slowy catching up.

History

This planet, as well as it's two siblings, is several billion years old. However, Rant was behind it's siblings when it came to developing sapient species. When Areu was building it's first space station the people of Rant had still not even invented a compass.
Rant's slow development of sapient species might be because of its challenging environmental conditions. Despite its abundance of natural resources, the vast oceans and limited landmass, coupled with frequent and intense natural disasters, hindered the early formation of stable evolution.
Since the visit of their spacefaring neighbors a while back, the scientific knowledge of the two sapient species on the planet has taken major leaps forward. However, they are still very much behind, as their neighbors weren't particularly fond of some of the inhabitants, limiting the extent of shared knowledge and technology.

Geography

The planet consists mostly of water. It has a small continent to the west with deserts and a couple of rainforests and a continent to the northeast with a cold climate, a lot of forests, and some caves.
The vast oceans are dotted with numerous islands, each hosting unique ecosystems. The western continent's deserts are rich in minerals, while the rainforests boast incredible biodiversity. The northeastern continent experiences harsh winters, shaping the resilience and resourcefulness of its inhabitants. Well...many cultures are arguing over who owns the planet. There are some large scale conflicts still but they are currently keeping it silent as they don't want the people of The Station butting in where they don't belong.

Flora & Fauna

There are billions of different animal and plant species on this planet. The dense rainforests of the western continent are home to towering trees with bioluminescent leaves, providing a surreal night-time canopy. These forests also host an array of unusual creatures, including large, colorful avian species with iridescent feathers and small, agile mammals that exhibit complex social behaviors.
The deserts, though arid, support hardy plants with deep root systems and thick-skinned fruits, along with nocturnal predators adapted to the extreme temperatures. The northeastern forests are dominated by coniferous trees and populated by a variety of fauna adapted to the cold, such as large, woolly herbivores and stealthy carnivorous hunters.
In the oceans, a stunning array of marine life thrives, from enormous, gentle leviathans that traverse the deep to vibrant coral reefs teeming with life. Unique to Rant are the floating algae islands, which host miniature ecosystems of their own, complete with tiny amphibious creatures and insect-like organisms that skip across the water's surface. These deep oceans might hold secrets.
While there are 2 sapient species on this planet people only say that there is one. The Spectera, because most people do not know about the second. Living deep in the oceans or walking secretly among the Spectera. The Kraken.
