Acceleration Couch

Crew restraint and seating device designed to ensure safety and comfort during periods of high acceleration. A typical model will resemble a white half-eggshell mounted on a floor, with a contoured and padded seat inside, capable of adjusting between sitting and prone positions. When under way at high thrust, the couch's padding will protect the occupant from injury while controls placed by the hands and screens overhead allow them to continue operating ship functions even while pulling so many gees they cannot lift their arms. For prolonged periods of acceleration, equipment for eating, drinking, and lavatory functions is provided as well.
