Also known as grey blood cells, nanites that travel through the user's bloodstream, attacking pathogens and alerting the user to the presence of any they cannot eliminate (through a monitoring implant). They are self-powering from nutrients in the bloodstream.

To prevent hacking most versions can't be reprogramed, only replaced at a clinic by filtering them out of the blood.

Civilian versions cannot protect against nanotoxins, chemical warfare agents, or bioweapons exploiting flaws in their detection strategies.

They can also detect impending medical issues like heart attacks, strokes, and cancer cells.
