Superpig
Species of intelligent uplifted pigs.
Biology
Superpigs were given humanlike hands and feet, and stood bipedally. They were short with rotund bodies, floppy ears, and pig-snouted faces.Psychology
Not much was recorded about their way of thinking, superpigs never existed in numbers large enough to form complex societies and create their own cultures. It is thought they were gregarious and got along with each other easily.Civilization and Culture
History
Superpigs were created by Ancient American scientist Darren Farnsworth, a pioneer in biotechnology during Old Terra's Age of Prosperity. They had their origins in an effort to grow human organs in pigs for transplant, a side effect of which was the porcine test subjects exhibiting signs of increased intelligence. Farnsworth, working in an offshore lab to evade government regulations, set about amplifying this to create the first uplifted non-human sapient species, the superpigs.
His work on cerebral engineering and physiological modification laid the groundwork for uplifting the torens and lupens, but superpigs themselves proved to be a tragic dead-end. Prone to health problems such as arthritis and weak hearts, there were never many superpigs and they are thought to have gone extinct after the End of Earth.
