Friar Belfstian
Friar Belfstian was a minister in the Church of Hangra.
He was a missionary, venturing all over Wynsumheord and spread the word of the Shining Lord throughout his travels. He was primarily based in Hangra, and often ministered to the Sundorwick People and the Firgenholt Tribe in the bordering forest villages.
This Friar was quite the rebel, shattering the status quo of being holier-than-thou. He liked to commune with "sinners", listen to their views, and share his views with them. He used very unconventional methods of teaching, attending pagan ceremonies and rituals, then asking The Shining Lord to demonstrate a miracle through him right there in front of everyone. This often proved very successful, much to the dismay of his fellow clergymen. Nevertheless, they slowly but surely accepted his practices, though few ever joined him. He had a couple of apprentices, and he also recruited many repenters to the church.
He is most known in the modern day as the one who cast demons out of the possessed cities of Hangra long ago, took their spells and charms, and buried them in Anathema's Casket (or, in an exaggerated story, the great Friar who vanquished the demon Anathema and bound her spirit in the infamous casket, casting it into the pit of hell).
Friar Belfstian lived a long and fulfilling life, preaching and teaching even into his old age until the day he departed this world.
"Why must we hide here in our fortified church walls when The Shining Lord has called us to slay a mighty dragon?"
"If my life is extinguished as I carry out the work of The Shining Lord, my loss will surely be counted as gain."
