Hangrans

Hangrans are the inhabitants of Hangra.   As citizens of one of the more robust village settlements within Wynsumheord, Hangrans are known for being quite rambunctious and brave. Their towns are home to many lively establishments. Their men are mostly brave warriors who have fought for neighboring kingdoms.   As with most Wynsumheordians, many Hangrans were displaced soldiers from surrounding kingdoms who were either banished or chose to escape due to harsh conditions.

Common Etiquette rules

The people of Hangra are on the rougher and more barbaric side of things. In their taverns, they are loud and rambunctious, partaking in behaviors that some may think to be crude, rude, and lewd. Their sense of humor is also not quite understood by most other Ealdensteads.

Foods & Cuisine

Hangrans enjoy hunting and eating big game. They host elaborate feasts of roasted meats and abundant fruits. They partake in much wine and beer.

Beauty Ideals

Many Hangran people value gallant bravery and strength. Warriors are adorned with more elaborate armor and assorted equipment. Helmets are worn with horns and other embellishments.   The women of Hangra are often fixed up in bodacious dress and pompous hairstyles. Being big, tall, and broad-shouldered is a trait that most folk have regardless of gender. Being too skinny is frowned upon. Most Hangrans are hunters and enjoy bountiful abundance. Having 'meat on one's bones' is a sign of wealth and happiness, thus also bringing pleasure to the eyes and the body.

Gender Ideals

Though many of the brave warriors of Hangra are men, there are tales of brave women in battle as well. Even some ghosts who go before great armies to ensure their victories. Places of entertainment often host operatic performances in which the star of the show is traditionally an elaborately dressed woman who sings in a strong and powerful voice about the glories of Wynsumheord.
