Ants Jaakson

Ants managed to get himself a job as a mechanic working for Fiat. This took him to Indianapolis in the United States where he worked on factory cars for the 1915 and 1916 races, He returned to Italy after the 1917 race was canceled and when the Russian Empire fell that year, he made his way back to his native Estonia through France, England, Norway, and Finland.   When the Estonian Provisional Government declared independence, he joined the new army where an officer noticed the vast difference between Ants’s skill with a wrench and with a rifle. He was put to work immediately on getting the captured trucks and armored cars running again before helping to design and build Anton Irv’s armored trains.   With Estonian independence secured, Ants returned to racing. In 1922, he was back at the Indianapolis 500 as a driver and 1923 saw him secure a sixth-place finish in a car of his own design.

Stunts

It’s All in the Reflexes
Compared to the race track, real life is rather slow. Any time that you need to respond to something that you can see coming (not from behind or at bullet speeds, etc.), you get a +2 to your Athletics roll to dodge it.
Piston Head
If it has an engine, you just know how it has to work. Whenever you’re dealing with fixing a vehicle or an engine of any kind, the difficulty is reduced by one level and the time required is reduced by one step.
Un Certo Fascino
You possess the mysterious charm that makes people take notice when you enter the room. When you decide to turn it on, you get a +2 on Rapport for commanding attention. The downside is that random strangers may find themselves amorously attracted to you.
