Kalid Shapur

Kalid Shapur is the director of the newly-formed Baghdad Archaeological Museum. Scion of an old Baghdad family, Shapur was educated at Eton, Cambridge, and Oxford. Visitors to his office are often surprised to see a large slab from the Babylonian period depicting Gilgamesh and Enkidu.
He speaks English fluently and precisely, much as he does Arabic. Shapur also speaks French, German, and Persian, and can read cuneiform and Egyptian hieroglyphics.
