Pistols

While pistols of an earlier era can certainly be found, the world is awash in handguns manufactured for the recent unpleasantness. Large numbers of surplus weapons have been sold on the open market and both armsmakers and governments have not been reticent about supplying the various revolutionary groups around the world.

Automatic Pistols

Colt Pocket Hammerless

A popular and reliable pocket pistol. The cartridge lacks stopping power, but is usable for self defense.

The Parabellum is accurate, particularly at longer ranges than common for a pistol. Military pistols are chambered for 9mm, while civilian versions use 7.65mm.

FN Model 1906

A small vest pocket pistol. Although using an anemic cartridge, this pistol (and the nearly identical Colt version in the US) are popular and deadly enough in the right hands.

Webley-Fosbery Automatic Revolver

An automatic pistol despite its appearance. The Webley-Fosbery is massive and has a tendency to jam in rough conditions. It is accurate and fires a large, heavy bullet.

M1911

Robust, practically fool-proof, and firing the potent .45 ACP round, the M1911 is the US military's standard pistol. The primary complaint is that it is awkward to use for people with small hands.

Mauser C96

One of the most common sidearms of the Great War, the C96 has continued to find users in various rebellions and civil wars around the world. The C96 is often found with a wooden holster that serves as a shoulder stock, allowing decent accuracy at very long range for a pistol.

Ruby

Manufactured in Spain in massive quantities for the French military, Ruby pistols vary greatly in quality. Those made by the Gabilondo and Urresti company are very well made and reliable. Pistols made by some of the other companies are more of a threat to the user than their targets. A concern about Ruby pistols is that magazines are not interchangeable between manufacturers. There is a two-letter code stamped on the bottom of the magazine, be certain to check carefully before grabbing an unknown magazine.

Revolvers

Colt Police Positive

Popular with users on both side of the law enforcement divide, the Police Positive is lighter than military equivalents. Widely considered to be one of the safest revolvers in the world as even a drop directly on the hammer can't fire a round accidentally.

M1917

Rugged and powerful, the M1917 was produced during the Great War to make use of the available revolver manufacturing capacity. Well-loved by those who use them, the M1917 uses three-round half-moon clips to speed reloading.
