Sybille Agathe Catherine Aliénor de Saint-André d'Alban

Sybille is the youngest daughter of a ancient French noble family. In a match arranged by her parents, she married the much older Colonel Guillaume Marie d'Alban, the last survivor of an old money family. After their wedding night, he returned to the battlefield of Verdun, where an artillery shell made her a widow. What had been planned to be a life of repopulating the d'Alban family tree was changed in an instant.   Still young, and now independent and wealthy, Sybille is free to live the life that she wants, which for now means travel and exploration into the occult and arcane. She may not be certain whether all of the old legends are true, but she wants to find out for herself.

Stunts

I Have the Strangest Feeling
You are open to the strange and paranormal – though sometimes that means letting in the Unpleasant Things from the Darkness and other such nuisances.

When passively detecting the Arcane and Occult, your Mysteries ability is used, instead of Notice. If you actively want to arcanely search an area, you'll use Mysteries instead of Investigate.

Mysteries can give you access to information that would normally be impossible to get – though that information may not be apparent in any clear fashion. Muddled riddles and vague intimations are the mode of the day when dealing with the occult.

There is an additional catch: actively searching using Mysteries may open you up to an unpleasant psychic attack. It might also let others with this power notice your presense.
The Blessing of a Thousand Tongues
You may learn any language quickly. With tutelage, it takes only a day. With only the opportunity to read or listen, it takes a week. If the source material is especially sparse, it may take as long as a month.
If Wishes Were Fishes
Sometimes, if you wish for something really hard, it happens. Not huge things like "I wish this war would end", but the little things.

There was that time when General Dubail's granddaughter Georgette wouldn't stop talking and you wished that the serveur would spill the whole serving dish of vichyssoise on her and it happened. Or when it rained so hard all night, except for the five minutes when you wished that it would stop so that you could get from the opera house into a taxi without ruining your new silk robe.

Once per scene, you can roll your Mysteries ability against a target of Great. If you succeed, you can change some small aspect of the situation.
