So what prompted you to suggest creating these avatars?

Self-preservation. Tharizdun killed another god. I could have been next. I would not make it easy for one of you to usurp my throne. And if Mystra could do it by herself, imagine how much more powerful beings could be if I could con some of those others into giving up more of their power, with just a little of my own...maybe I could control the Fire one.
