21 Formurst 488

It's not as bad as the stories said. The Red Wood Forest. I figured it was the safest place for Nasu and I to go to after running away. I just couldn't stay there any longer. The Zumren's and the Zachry's.....I just couldn't take it. They followed me. But the forest, it closed behind me. It protected me from them. Could the forest be alive?

The forest made a path before me, guiding me. Tonight I'm in a goblin town, hidden in the forest. Last night we stayed in a cave, a massive dire wolf sleeping outside of it. The stories they told of the forest were full of monsters, and yet, the forest seems to be protecting me. Are they just stories to keep us children in line?

Hello? Who are you? It can't be 488 can it?

........what?

Hello? A sentient journal? Do you have a name?

My name is Hona....

The Red Wood forest is nice but I'm missing Thyme Point right now. The blooming garden and the beautiful pond in it's center. I remember that one of our servants would take me over there frequently.

Thyme Point Garden? In Cindur?

Yes. That's the one it was right across the street from our family home. Here.

Across the street from your family home? I was told that that was the Zumren Manor.

Yes. The Zumren Manor. My name is Amanda Zumren, Hona. I ran away from my family with my pet monkey Nasu. When were you in the garden?

The 19th of Bresis, 216. I was watching Bastet Kupp greet the Zumren at her house across the street. I remember young children running in and out of the house.

I remember that day. I was in the Garden with Keleth...my older cousins were in and out of the house while Keleth and I were looking at the various plants and things in the pond. I remember the Tabaxi and his son showing up. They were quite strange. But grandmother seemed please they had arrived. She claimed to have been calling to them. Something about our families being connected.

If I'm being honest I don't really know what she was talking about. She's always been a bit strange from what I've noticed about other Elves compared to our family. We're not like the others, I'm not sure if that's because we were made by Mystra, and are therefore demi-gods, or because of the nature of our magic. The things that our family has done.....Hona, what did you look like?

You mean what was my race? Well I'm what some would consider a half-elf. But I came to For Storia from a city called Banar-Kinting. It was a very peacful place, Thyme Point Garden reminds me alot of it.

Did you have green eyes, with the redish-blonde hair?

I did.

I remember you that day. I thought it strange that someone was watching the house so intently. Grandmother Rania said that there were tons of people who were interested in us and what we were capable of. Perhaps you were just an admirer trying to join in worshiping our family. I still shudder thinking about the pride and joy her face would show when she brought that up.

From what my uncle Travaran said, my grandmother came to Cindurria, before it was Cindurria. They left Guadarnas with a large group of elves, looking for a new home after the Gods left. They came upon the land that is now Cindur, where a race of serpant like people lived, and conquered them. My Grandmother was a cleric at the time, and displayed immense power, which people began to worship. By the time they reached what is now Cindurria, my grandmother's following had increased, and her opinion of herself with it. Instead of settling on a home, from what was already in the city they conqured, she insisted on a brand new one being built. The leader, now Queen Meira of the house of Grelen agreed and the family home was built. The Queen was so enamored with my grandmother's power that she bequeathed the stain glass window that sits atop the front door.

If I'm being honest I don't understand how more of the family, even the kingdom doesn't see my grandmother for what she is. The woman has gone crazy with power. I've heard Uncle Travaran and Aunt Enerria talk of leaving, of taking their children and running away, but as my grandmother's eldest child, and suprisingly only single birth, she can't. When they tried the last time my grandmother sent someone to kidnap the kids and bring them back to the house. My aunt and uncle could leave, apparently, but their children couldn't. There was even a royal decree saying that parents didn't have custody of their children, but that instead resided with the head of the family.

Only single birth? How many kids has your grandmother had?

Eight. All but the first one were multiple births. My mother is part of my grandmother's first set of twins. The tripplets were born next in 130, then another set of twins in160.

Elves don't normally procreate that frequently.

No they don't. But my family aren't normal elves. It's in part why my grandmother was so thrilled to be worshiped. We're created by Hirta in her image, my grandmother called us demi-gods. Two other families were created too, the Fordave family, and the Kupp Family. Orym Kupp is a piece of work, the man gave me the chills frequently. His son Fexiah Heist was nice though. Not like his father at all.

My grandmother fancied our family as equals to Queen Meira and her family, if not the betters of them. I heard her telling grandfather once that they only reason Meira was in power was because she made it so. I've even overheard her making grand plans in regards to the queens unborn child.

Really the queens unborn child? That your grandmother would harm an unborn child!?!

Not harm the future prince or princess, but from what I over heard she's working on a plan to control them better then the control she has on the queen at the moment. I can't imagine the plans she has for the royal family could be any worse then what she did at Thyme Point Garden.

What happened at the garden?

A group of individuals who stood against my grandmother, and the "good" she was doing in the kingdom were executed there. My grandmother "prayed" for their souls, as they died infront of our house. It was shortly after your visit, around 275. Grandmother made all of us be there for it. It was sickening, if I'm being honest.

She had an entire group of people executed?

It's not the first time either. It's something that I've heard members of the cult do frequently in her name. Just one of the reasons I ran away, to be honest.
