Kiku (KEE-KOO)

A beautiful vining plant that grows along the trees in the forests of Zukei . These plants have light green, thin, strong stems that can be twisted into rope. The leaves are pointed with a bright blue green color. In the Spring, it blooms with many beautiful pink flowers, the petals vaguely resemble an elf’s ears. When confronted with a loud sound the flowers close. If one sings sweetly to a closed flower, it will reopen. Kiku grow larger and have more magic if exposed to music during their growth. It is said if one sits quietly by a Kiku, the plant will hum to the listener the prettiest song they know. The petals are used in various alchemical brews that improve or alter one’s hearing.
