Military: Battle
Ridvan used the distraction of his ships abruptly moving in from the south to draw fire while his footsoldiers clambered over the walls of Beldapor to the north. By sunrise, his soldiers had massacred much of Beldapor's army (as well as some civilians), and Ridvan was marching on the Es'Theran Palace that Rebecca had retreated into during the siege.
Ridvan's ships advanced on Beldapor abruptly. Ridvan had always planned for them to be the distraction that took the most casualties, though he had not told his soldiers this. The majority of Ridvan's fleet did not make it to the city, being wiped out by the defensive weaponry of Beldapor. Ridvan himself clambered into a rowboat and successfully rowed himself and a few surviving soldiers to Beldapor, perhaps protected by his new goddess. While Beldapor was distracted by their efforts to stave off the southern attack, soldiers climbed over the city walls to the north and slew the weaker guard there, erupting out of the forest. Having a great deal more recent battle experience thanks to the previously ongoing war with Grozav in Aduna, Fainarr's soldiers were far more well-equipped for the battle than the defending forces. The defending armies of Buern, Aerdis, and Zukei stationed in Beldapor were massacred, and by sunrise, King Ridvan was leading a march on Es'Theran Palace, where Queen Rebecca had retreated during the warfare at the behest of her advisors.
