irezoko

Irezoko is a type of magical tattoo given to the best of the advanced students in Absalom's College of Mysteries. They are quite distinctive as they cover the face (especially on the forehead and under the eyes), but also include the arms, legs, chest, and lower back. They are highly prized among the city's elite, who view them on par with the greatest and most expensive gowns made by Absalom's best tailors.

The arcanist Urixikas bears a complex irezoko covering much of his face and upper body.

On the contrary, Exley Edwards is adamant about his dislike of the irezoko requirement of the College of Mysteries, possibly part of his reason for abandoning his studies early.
