An avatar of the dragon god Garyx led red dragons to invade Ostoria, the land of the giants.

Eventually, all of dragonkind was drawn into the conflict. Upon its conclusion, Ostoria was reduced to only a few territories in the Great Glacier and the Cold Lands. At least according to the giants, peace came as their main god, Annam the All-Father, challenged Garyx to a board game. The game ended in a draw and the war in a cease-fire. Both sides lost so much that they didn't want to risk more.
