Morcela

Morcela is a rare mushroom found only in a few locations in Dashan, and is used in the Ritual of Aziz.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The dark yellow mushroom has a slender trunk with a lengthy oval shaped cap on its top. The cap is perforated from its top with deep holes.

Genetics and Reproduction

When it is raining (which isn't happening too often in Dashan) or when the mushroom is being touched, a yellow stinky cloud of spores shoots out from the top holes. If the spores get wet, they mix with the fluid into a yellow goo that just sticks to everything. From that goo new Morcela mushrooms start to grow, but too often the yellow mass dries out and dies.
