The Boiling Sands
The Sea of Boiling Sands is a vast and inhospitable desert that stretches out for miles in every direction. The sun beats down mercilessly upon the barren landscape, the heat shimmering in waves that distort the air and make it difficult to see. The sand is fine and powdery, and it clings to everything, coating your skin and your clothes in a fine layer of grit.
At the center of the Sea of Boiling Sands lies the dry lake, a desolate and lifeless expanse of cracked earth and dusty sand. The whole desert is littered with the remnants of the sea life that once called this place home, now buried beneath the sands. The ancient remains of fish and other creatures deep underground produce toxic gases that occassionally bubble to the surface, creating deadly pockets of air that can suffocate the unwary.

The dunes shift and change with the wind, making navigation difficult even for those who are experienced with the terrain. Dust storms can spring up without warning, engulfing everything in a choking cloud of sand that can last for days.

Sandworms, scorpions, and other deadly beasts lurk in the shifting sands, waiting for their next meal to stumble by.
