Arani
The Aranii hold many species records. They are not only the largest creatures in existence, they are also the most intelligent, slowest growing, and longest lived. Among many other things.
Yes they are...
Anatomy and Physiology
Aranii have a bird-like, S shaped form, six limbs, and an enormous tail. Their bodies are gelatinous in consistency, but areas like the beak, claws, horns and sensory organs are tougher and solidified. They have six limbs which include legs, small arms, and long, muscular clawed arms for digging into rock and soil. Relative to size, Aranii have tiny feet for balancing on. Their enormously long tail at adulthood acts as a counter balanceSensory

Sexual Dimorphism and Gender
It? She? Him? Aranii reproduce asexually and thus lack the same reproductive organs that sexual creatures would have. Therefore, Aranii are neither male nor female and instead assume both parental roles when reproducing. However, because Aranii are incredibly intelligent, those that have been exposed to gender culture of other creatures sometimes will assume a gender identity for the ease of identification by non-Arani individuals. Sometimes it’s safer to ask, but otherwise most Aranii don’t particularly care what they’re called since gender is not a construct in Arani culture. There are no physical differences that are exclusive to a “female” or “male” Arani. One should note that even if an Arani assumes or behaves more femininely than another, this does not make the Arani “female.” And so on.Diet and Aging
Diet
An Arani’s entire diet consists of Aranite: a toxic and radioactive element found predominantly on X Planets (Zragak), newly formed planets, and Ethiea. Their bodies are entirelyAging and Growth

Aranii are considered peaceful when in isolation. However, it has been observed that, when in close proximity, Aranii become highly aggressive toward foreign individuals. On the other hand,Culture
Sharing stories and wisdom to youngRelationships
Aranii form very strong relationships with their relatives. Parents will develop a bond with their offspring so strong that the parent and offspring will stay in close contact their entire life. Siblings tend to also form close bonds depending on proximity.Vulnerabilities
Go for the tail. Because an Arani’s tail is its own personal storage unit and where the primary core is located, cutting off an Arani’s tail will drain the individual of its reserves and prevent it from circulating stored energy to the rest of the body. While it may not be an immediate death, it’s extremely effective. However one should be warned that an Arani can reunite its tail with its body if it acts quick enough. Another word of caution: dealing any significant damage near the Arani’s primary core could result in a catastrophic explosion of lethal aranite radiation.
