Introduction
Throughout the Arcverse, the servants of the Keeper have survived for the last three centuries following his death, many without any clear purpose. The Anshanavannir were Graces that the Keeper raised to the level of priests whose role was to worship him and to lead the other Graces in veneration. Now that the Anshanavannir are without a master, they conspire with other Graces to restore their master, or at least to restore his realm of Celestium.
The Keeper's Celestial Priesthood
When the Keeper discovered to his shock that he was not the sole creator of life and that the power of the Athervannir had created new Graces, the Tralanvannir, he lied to these new life forms and pretended to be their lord and creator. Such was his fear and vanity that he had to keep up this pretence, and waged war against any Grace that defied him or suspected him of lying. Amongst the most loyal of the Graces who remained allied to the Keeper were the Phalanx, who, along with the Keeper’s own enforcers, the Shuravai, killed the dissenting Thaladic Graces in their thousands. The Keeper also granted special powers to a small group of his celestial following who became known as the Anshanavannir, and these Graces were the priesthood of the Tralanvannir. Their role was to encourage their brethren to worship the Keeper as a divine creator god. The Ahshanavannir were used to incite devotion long before the Mortal Realm existed or there were humans to influence. They were immensely powerful entities as a result of the machinations of the Keeper and they stayed loyal to him until his destruction. After the Sundering, the Anshanavannir fled the chaos that ensued, some hiding in parts of the Celestial Realm, which in their eyes had already begun to be polluted with mortal life. The Anshanavannir recognise that mortals do serve their purposes however, and with the vast profusion of mortal beings across the Arcverse, there are opportunities to use them to achieve their goals. The Anshanavannir have accepted that the Keeper is gone and unlikely to be resurrected, but they also believe that Celestium can be restored, firstly by seizing the twenty seven Asivaa islands that surround the Light of the Keeper. They believe that the Athervannir represent the worst traitors to the Keeper and seek to eliminate them and any supporters they have. They also despise the Shuravai and plan to destroy them when the opportunity presents itself.
