Any vehicle capable of vertical take-off and landing is commonly called SkyCutter in common usage, whether or not we'd consider it a helicopter or a tilted rotor aircraft. SkyCutters are the craft of choice for anything military that involves logistics, loitering flights, refueling, close air support. Although, a dedicated close air support platform is called a gunskycutter, and is the flying equivalent of a gunboat.
