  A light shield can be made of either wood or steel. Both shields offer the same protection, but have different cost and weights, and follow their respective material properties.
 
  • Wooden: Cost: 3 gp, Weight: 5 lbs.
  • Steel: Cost: 9 gp, Weight: 6 lbs.

  Shield Bash Attacks: You can bash an opponent with a light shield. Used this way, a light shield uses the weapon properties below.

  If you use your shield as a weapon, you lose its AC bonus until your next turn. An Enhancement Bonus on a shield does not improve the effectiveness of a shield bash made with it, but the shield can be made into a Magic Weapon in its own right.
