The Dathmere Khanate

A loose collection of barbarian tribes and horse-lords, the Dathmere Khanate are the indisputed champions of the Khan Plains in which they reside. They are a nomadic people, strongly in tune with their environment and fiercely protective of it. They are known to frequently raid settlements near their borders, especially during harsh winters, leaving a large buffer of uninhabited land along their proclaimed borders. They have a split ruling caste, with the strongest warrior of each tribe often splitting rule with the tribe's spiritual leader, typically shamans and druids. It is often suggested that Dathmere children are born on horseback, mastering riding horseback before they even learn to walk. While hyperbole, no one can deny their mastery of horses, especially mounted combat. They are a brutal and unforgiving people, much like the land in which they reside, and the Khan Plains are frequently considered by outsiders to be as inhospitable as the Savage Wilds or the Desolate Waste because of it.
