Truth Teller

The First Artifact
Used by the long dead god of beauty, Arvonliet, this sword can easily fell any enemy before it and allies weep from its beauty. A simple glace at this sword unsheathed is to have one's life changed.
Little is known about Truth Teller and even less is known of Arvonliet. The sparse records talk of the pair as if they were the same, not differentiating between god and weapon. This is unique among the gods whose power is often based from natural events that have a huge effect on the societies that worship them. Here, the weapon is a sword and not lightning.
The language used speaking of two is confusingly contradictionary. Fair and vile, beautiful and terrifying, fact and fiction.
Existing since the early days of the world, Truth Teller was the bane of the early gods. Religion was not yet well established across the tribes and there was much competition for followers. A singular item upended the status quo.
Entire tribes were destroyed with a single swing as Arvoliet ravaged the lands. Word quickly spread and the other gods realized their only hope was to work together and form the Old Pantheon.
Few of those ancient gods remain and each has aa different recounting of events. All leaving the details inexact. Mentions of Truth Teller simply stop appearing, no legends of it falling into another's hands, no mention of destruction or imprisonment.
Newer religions dismiss the myths simply an exaggerated story of an earlier conqueror who united most groups creating a common story. A shared cultural story that each put its own distinct spin on. How could an item of such power and a deity just disappear from history without mention? Not a single follower of Arvonliet has been seen since his diappearance.
