Into Blood Wood

General Summary

Following in Leldrin’s footsteps and hoping to gain assistance with Giltris soul gem, the party head into Blood Wood.

Under the shadow of the trees the party find thing ominously dark and quiet, a day or so into their journey they come across a fast flowing river, Astra deciding to be cautious decides to check the water for magic, finding that it is the part decide not to take any chances, Giltris easily jumps over and Astra after fending off Ragnaros attempts to toss her over, summons a floating disk to take her and the troll over the water.

Hauflin having flown over and gotten board waiting for the other party members went exploring and discovered a sarcophagus surrounded by standing stones. The others arrived to see him messing with the sarcophagus, writing on it with chalk, Astra attempts to warn him off as the runes on it are clearly magical, unfortunately he trips some kind of ward and vines start growing up around the circle of standing stones attempting to trap him inside, fortunately he manages to fly out just in time. The party decide that it would be best not to stick around and quickly head deeper into the forest.

That night they set up camp, Ragnaros builds a fire to cook dinner and ward off predators while the other decide it would be safer to hide up in the trees away from the attention getting fire. Later when the others are awakened by a load bellow, looking down they see a pair of large wooden tree spirits attacking Ragnaros, the others leap to his aid attacking the Dryads with the exception of Hauflin who attempts to talk to them. At the sound of Druid speech they stop attacking and accuse the Party of trespassing, grave robbing and burning their kin, they look like they are going to continue attacking until Hauflin mentions the name of the Elven ghost they aided, at which point they demand the party lay down their weapons and await the arrival of the Champion Nediion.
When Nediion arrives they relay their story to him, as it turns out the ghost Raithriel was his sister, in thanks for releasing her he agrees to escort the party to see Queen Alachia.

Meeting the Queen

The Party are escorted into the throne room where the queen demands they explain themselves, when she hears they lifted the curse on the fort she berates them asking why they think that she wouldn’t have already lifted the curse, now she is going to have to send soldiers to drive the T’skrang out and re-establish their presence there. Still she concludes that they had good intentions so they will not be punished.

Giltris asks the queen for assistance with her soul problem, Alachia snatches the gem from Giltres hand and coldly examines it, all the while Giltres is trapped in the gem fuming. Alachia eventually proclaims that she can fix Giltris in exchange for Giltris performing a task for her, She must recover a sword that was stolen from the elf queen and bring back the head of the thief, Giltris had to make a blood oath to complete this task within the year, at which point Alachia would return her soul to her body.

The oath sworn the Queen let them know that Leldrin was indeed here but left for Parlainth some 18 days ago, she believes that he is seeking a magic staff of particular power. With that the party are dismissed and escorted out of Blood Wood. They decide to head to the Scyth Mountains to see if the Trolls there can help Ragnaros with his cursed armour.
