Free Colonies of Tiann (Tea-awn)
Structure
The Free Colonies are a much looser organization than their rivals on Tiann. While they have a senate of sorts, the Assembly of Tianni, it is less a rigid chamber for debate on laws and policies, but more a place for the leaders of the various colonies or homesteaders to raise concerns and suggest courses of action.
The Assembly can be called together by any Tianni, and has no formal leader. Often, the caller or callers of the meeting will lead discussion, but this isn't always the case.
While a simple flag and banner exist for the Free Colonies, it is used mostly to identify friendly forces during combat.
Culture
A lot of the population of the Colonies were rural and agrarian. Farming in the clearings, natural or otherwise, that mark the forest was a popular way of life. Many Tianni avoided large governments, preferring to live isolated or in small, tight-knit communities.
Assets
As a lot of Tianni live on the frontier, weaponry and firearms are a necessary part of life. There are said to be more firearms than Tianni in some towns, and there was a thriving grey market for firearms imported from across the Nodum System. During the Tianni Civil War, despite being well outnumbered and lacking the same modern military training as the Talopi Xonod Army, the Tianni weaponry well outclassed the standard issue Talopi equipment.
