Temple of the moon

When the Elite first took over from the king, they stripped down his castle and changed it into a temple for the moon, claiming that no single person deserves such a grand building for themselves and only the natural forces should be looked upon with such admiration.     Before the castle was a fortified palace for the king to safely rule behind the walls without needing to see the outside world. Four tall turrets facing each direction so that anyone approaching would be spotted before they could advance. Connecting lookout points and the smaller buildings was a high wall that housed all the royals, and anyone deemed worthy, these were all placed in a large circle with a courtyard in the centre. The courtyard however had a ceiling so that no one from above could see into the wide area, in the kings maddened years he said that this was vital because if the sky can learn his secrets so can his enemies.   When the Elite took over, they opened up many of the rooms so that at night the moon would shine in, empowering them. They built the turrets higher so that they’d be closer to the moon with big wide platforms that on the night of a supermoon are filled with items from their designated element. This is to encourage the moon to come down to them and connect with them With the castle now being A sacred temple for the moon and home for the elite, they opened up the courtyard so that each night everyone would be able to bathe in the moonlight.   As the building itself has a rich history of being a home for the rulers of the country, it is often seen as place of power and importance with most cities knowing of it but never having seen it, as it is situated in a secure part of the capital city.
