Technology Tiers

Nycos has been infected, affected, and altered by a variety of technological sources, those that arose to help Nycos, and those that mean it great harm. Here are their stories. "dunn DUNN"  

Technology of Man

With the arrival of humanity on Nycos, from the first iteration virtually every one since, the tech of Terra has been modified, strengthened or weakened by use on the planet of the Prism. Functionally, these are most often rudimentary, but exotic adjustments of the classic and fairly ubiquitous things humanity brings with it in science fiction and historic terms. Gunpowder, firearms, bioweapons, transporters, and wheeled vehicles are primary examples.  

Technology of Yarlem

Since the Poem that Change the World, the Overlords and their minions bring to their adoptive home biological, perceptual, and collective technology. Perhaps life-extending and and healing in nature, or emotionally or mentally challenging otherwise, the Yarlem influence the world. Biological weapons, psychic or paranormal elements, communication and interconnection  

Technology of Grundim

The Everdark is a source of madness and ingenuity. Between the Grund, Grim and Tinks, the use of elements of steam power, diesel power, and other mechanical devices (pulleys, winches, levers,, gizmos and whatnot. Most of them 'work' but only the most insane designers can create efficient, useful designs.  

Technology of Eldrin

From the origins in Nyx, Elrdin magicks have been focused on nature, living things, and the flora and fauna of the land itself. Conjuring, summoning, reshaping wood and plants, these are all associate with the tech of the Eldrin. While many of the Tech features feel like or can be emulated by magical Effects, the Eldrin Tech nonetheless have 'natural' connections... Plant-driven Elevators, micro-biome devices like squirrel-cage engines and the like all fall into this category  

Technology of the Rook

Intimate relationship with the styles and types of existence are the key to Rook. Raising and breeding spiders. building and sailing pirate ships all lead to tech advances that support and exploit those skills. Spidrine rope, woven spider silk armor, and other specialzed technology results from practical uses.  

Tinknology

Without saying, the masters of making things in general are the Tinks. Mostly 'rube goldbergesque', often silly the Tink concepts are more about how to practically explain a mechanism than actually make one that works.

Technology of the Other

Any technology which cannot clearly be defined by the other types are considered to be from the Other. Such technology defies description or purpose or reason itself. "one that is not one"
