Undran Militarist Subcultures

Arachnid

The traditionally known Undran is by far the most gregarious of the Everdark cultures, though few outsiders and even fewer from the Undersky have visited an Arachnid Undran's home and lived to tell about it. They are most secretive about their culture and home life, focusing on whatever compromising information they can gather about others. They prefer to raise and communicate with the Socialized White Crystal spiders they call Ghost Spiders and in particular train a larger variety known as the Ghasts. Blatterimid

Creating safe environments within the Everdark is essential to survival, so a natural symbiosis was bound to develop between Katsarida, Mytes, and the Undran clans. The culture takes advantage of the Katsariida's prolific nature and the resources of the dead that the Eldrin bring to the relationship. In deep forests of the Undersky, the surface and the everdark are often indistinguishable, but the Eldrin blur the line by bringing bioluminescence to new levels, while using the paperlike material produced by the Mytes, as they call them to create half-shadows in the half-light, and light in the deep places of the world.

Coleopterid

The workhorses of the Undran culture are the Coleopterids, bringing specially bred giant beetles into the process. Some of their larger species can exceed twenty feet in length, and between the bombardier and Rhino beetles, they are a formidable enemy on and below the battlefields

Formicid

The Ant-cultured Undran known as the Formicid is arguably the least 'civil' of the Undran subcultures, having surrendered even verbal speech for a form of Chronomy that emulates the ant's antenna-based dance-talk. As such, they are extremely defensive and rarely commit to any action that might lead to any threat to their home or insect family.

Gastropod

The most hermit-like of the Undran befriended Slugs, snails, and the like. Due to the mass and relatively low speed of their allies, Gastropods instead are the most prolific traders and negotiators.

Myriapod

On the other end of the spectrum, the Millipede- Centiped culture is the speediest and most forward and confident of the Eldrin. Their mounts, dangerous in their own way, keep them safe from most dangers.
