Special shadow lands have been established over the years to accommodate the Wrecca construction.   One of the most notable feature of the Wilds in the veil set up to conceal the majority of the Monocasy River from the wrecca which allows for a population of knuckers and fresh water Selkies to live unmolested.

Fauna & Flora

Flora

Witch Trees once grew wild throughout the region, but most out side the shadowlands were cut down by wrecca who feared they grew from seeds the devil planted from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. These majestic trees resemble gnarled cypress trees with colored luminous orbs floating around them. The trees derive their name from these witch lights that are actually ethereal fruits that grant visions.   Fern flowers were introduced to the area by Estonian immigrants and have flourished in the woods.   Austras Koks, or sun trees were introduced around Nightfall by Dark Lady Ina Blackwood to make a grove of endless day.

Fauna

The Millgrave Forest contains many creatures unique and native to the region.   The American Unicorn is common in the wild. Unlike the European Unicorn, they resemble a horned alpaca with a long mane and tail/   Ball-tailed cats stalk the wood with their cousins the Demon Cat and the Wampus cat.   European Alicorns (Winged Unicorn) were imported by Dark Lady Severina Blackwood, though they would often visit in the past on their long ranging migrations.   Goatman or American Satyr frequent the wood seeking shelter from wrecca hunters.   Hyote, a strange native canid that resembles the cross between a hyena and a coyote range throughout the woods, though their numbers have dwindled.   Snallygaster, from Schneller Geist or "Quick Ghost," is one of the few draconic beasts native to North America, makes its home in the hills and mountains.   The Snarly yow is a native species of the "black dog" common in Europe. They are more often heard than seen, thus their name.   Tailypo are roughly the size of a dog with red or yellow eyes with a long tail and pointed, tufted ears like a bobcat. They are nocturnal with black fur.

History

The Establishment of Millgrave Forest was the second act Dark Lord and Lady Blackwood took after establishing Nighfall. Alaric named it after Elias Millgrave, a Drymenn, later Ryukishi, who scouted the territory for them, and negotiated their rights to the land from the native population.   Millgrave has been the sight of many interactions with cryptids as the wrecca call them, forcing the Salian Order to continuously patrol and wipe the memories of people who encounter creatures who wander out to the shadows and mists.
