Escaping the Desert
Torrentous woke up in the desert and was faced with a strange Drow dwarf, adorned with odd druidic robes. The stranger offered him a mushroom, which had the tendency to latch onto Torrentous' head. He introduced himself as Bolson Swiftmist. Torrentous asked if he had seen anyone, and the two traveled together through the sands looking for their respective groups. Gervil made it to the second floor of the desert mansion and discovered Rashomon speaking with a Yuan-Ti colleague. Gervil approached the two men, but as he did so Rashomon took Gervil's hand and made a shallow cut, then reciprocated by cutting his own hand, then shaking hands. The gesture was unfamiliar to Gervil and Rashomon did not attack, allowing Gervil to continue on his way. Gervil met with Jessa, who got pulled up to the roof by a Knoll. Gervil pursued them by turning into Virgil and using his wicked chains to latch on and pull himself up to the top of the roof.Young Jacques and his Secrets
Azriel came into contact with a young Jacques, but when he attempted to speak with him, Jacques became weary of the stranger's presence and ran. Azriel found his research on how to Stabilize Riverwind. One final secret became clear with the full pages of Jacques research back together. His work revealed that level 3 armatures, as a means of both energy and intelligence used to power the automaton, contain a human soul. Virgil fought the bullet on the roof. The fierce monster began diving down into the second floor, crashing into the other heroes who were in harm's way. The priestesses continued their worship at the Grikkitog. One priestess came out and said that the girl was missing, and the sacrifice was ruined. They took the sacrifice to their own hands. One priestess threw herself into the jaws of the ferocious mountain beast. After the sacrifice, the Grikkitog turned into a giant larva spider beast with the face of Stockton Araby, the ultimate abomination made manifest within Jessa's dream. The heroes pursued Jacques, who, once cornered, revealed that he'd discovered a way to retain the free will of a soul who's been added to a level 3 armature. This was at the core of the threat to his family's livelihood. With all of the research and secrets plundered from Jesse's dream. It was a race to the dream door to escape in one piece. As they made their escape the Yuan TI that Gervil saw on the second floor surprised the group by pushing Azrael down into the lower Canyon. Cassidy was damaged by an enemy as she retreated and for some reason that hurt Aetha. In a frantic rush, everyone made a desperate dash for the dream door, narrowly escaping the jaws of the wo menacing beasts.Back in Griffynspire
As our heroes woke up to their new reality. Aetha made a startling discovery: Griffonspyre was inexplicably floating in the sky. The two rats who were guarding the stable were on their bellies with their equilibrium thrown off by the gentle rocking of land beneath them. The entire inn was being pushed by the rolling winds. Further exploration revealed Jala's lifeless body hidden beneath two Test dummies, adding to the mystery unfolding around them. Matters escalated when Aeða learned from the cook about recent murders, casting a shadow of fear over the group. Aeða's encountered Tristian Hannah who was investigating the murders. He asked her to gather everyone in the lobby for their own safety. Meanwhile, Torrentous and Azriel stumbled upon Phineas the Onion Knight tied up to a rapidly spinning windmill, promptly rescuing him. Their search through the rooms unearthed grim discoveries: the lifeless body of the woman entertainer. Gino's room was booby trapped with illusions that also revealed hidden treasures including the boots of the trickster that Bigby had lost and two scrolls: color spray and silent image. Delving deeper, they found Stryxia's ledger of souls, exposing sinister contracts and mysterious dealings. They met Gailon, a gnome with a missing sister, adding another layer of intrigue. In a peculiar moment, they caught Phineas engaged in an unusual activity, polishing his onion knight spear, raising further suspicions.Stryxia's Bargain
Azriel and Torrentous went in to speak with Stryxia, Torrentous began filling with holy fire in the presence of a great devil. He left the room. Stryxia offered Azriel two agreements. One to spend a night with her and she would get rid of one of the murderers. The second agreement was that Azriel visit her home world to meet her mother and father for "a few days" and she would get rid of all the bad agents in Griffonspyre. Azriel agreed and Stryxia, turning into her underworld dragon form, called on sinister dark magic to trap the orc laborer, the two performers, the dwarf pirate, and ending their lives in terrible black fire. She also pulled in what looked to be Gino, but in the last minute the figure turned back into a training dummy. Gino was one step ahead once again. The heroes watched Azriel and Zanuriel walk through the portal and out of their plane of existence. Will Azriel and Zanuriel survive their journey into the hellish unknown? Only time will tell in our next episode of Dream Thieves!
